Today we came so close to our first win but our defence let us down at the end after a great comeback in the last 10 where we showed our good passing and running skills, deserving of at least a draw.

Today we had a few more players getting used to contact and stepping up a gear such as Rose, who today was awarded top tackler she made some great tackles to save certain tries and also showed up well with ball in hand. Ryan also got back into the groove with his mazey runs and back on the score sheet, Ryan would have been close to getting top tackler award if only he held onto the tackler (ring of steel)  but instead walked away with try scorer award for great determination to get over the line. Another making his mark was the new boy Mackenzie who was awarded best effort award for some silky running, taking ball at pace and making some telling tackles covering back to save his team mates. Piers again made his mark in the game picking up making difference award tracking highest tackle count and making some telling strong runs and straightening our attacking lines with ball in BOTH hands Most of the time anyway.
There were strong all round games from Dylan, Dewi, Lewis and Lex who all made good runs and made their tackles count all day and try of the match came after a number of passes out of tackles with Dewi  taking the ball close and piping the ball up to Lewis running a good supporting line to cross to give us a chance for a draw. Next week lets try and get whole team training to help build confidence in contact as I'm sure today if we would have held our defensive lines with the whole team tackling we would have won, as our running and passing game is looking strong. There is no game next week so lets get two weeks of training in so we can get out first win of the season.
