Kenfig Hill Under 15s 7 Porthcawl RFC Under 15s 22

Thanks to both sides for the odd socks worn today for down syndrome awareness week.

Great local Derby a tough contest where at half time we were down 7 v 5 after going into the lead. We continue to start slowly and there was a massive contest in the ruck area.

Once we got some quick ball and we  moved it wide, we looked dangerous and eventually got into the lead only for Kenfig to come back just before half time. Second half we picked our game up but we kept on throwing forward passes or knocking it on, or throwing wild passes when we needed some control.

Scrums were dominated along with the line out but we couldn’t just capitalise on the chances we created. The front row were dominant which allowed Lex to get the upper hand on the opposition 9.

The second half we moved the ball and Dewi driffted across for Sam to run an out to in line and broke through to put us in the lead. The backs looked strong joe, Oscar, Finn running things back and Mack and Sam dominating the midfield. We kicked well and played the territory and the pressure built with Evs, Piers, Dex, max flan making some strong runs creating quick ball. With mack scoring the first, Sam scored his second again hitting a good line off mack. We finished off with Oscar who had some strong runs powering over to finish the game. Positive today we didn’t give up and kept on battling away against a determined kenfig team but we need to step up again next week for our cup game.

Big thank you to our sponsors for the kit,  we will have some photos next week.
