We were hoping the sun would shine today, and it did briefly but then the heavens opened, but to be fair both sides handling was great in very poor conditions.
We started well, getting quick ball and our backs looked dangerous and after a few phases we moved into the opposition half and Beau got quick ball to Dewi after we had sucked them in who cross kicked for Mack to gather and run in. Dex then powered over and as normal made a number of turnovers today always putting his body on the line. As we moved the ball into space Mack and then Sam scored quickly as we opened the game up using the the space out wide to attack with some good runs from Oscar, Cae, Joe and Finn DA running the ball back and always making yards with the ball in hand.
Beau was sharp today but the mud sniper stopped him from racing through. Forwards today showed great maturity knowing when to run and if isolated moving the ball on, rather than taking contact and getting isolated like prior week.
The Front row in that mud were great, holding the scrum together, first Dex, Ben, Evs and then Dylan. Finnian and Lex caught every kick off and tackled everything that moved. Piers and max flan made some powerfull runs putting us on the front foot and gave us quick ball and gave us great quick ball from the rucks. Both teams scrummaged really well in sticky conditions but what was more impressive was in terrible conditions we played our structures well boys making decisions and working as a team. It’s a good sign when it’s really hard to pick man of the match with Dewi running the show and creating space and communicating really well, Mack with three tries and probably could have had a few assists who was outstanding and even looked like could go up another gear who would normally pick up man of the match for a Hat-trick. Dex was strong over the ball and two tries pushed it close with Lex and max flan in the forwards who  worked well in pods also sticking their hand up. But man of the match goes to Dylan, his first game in 2yrs years and he was strong in the scrums, made a number of tackles and Rucked really well. To hold up The scrum in those conditions is good but for his first game back was excellent with the pack making him feel at home. Next week we are away to Kenfig hill let’s keep on building these performances
