Another game of two halves today where we travelled to Kenfig to play against a team that also likes to throw the ball arround and we had a feast of rugby. Kenfig started strong using the slope to score two early tries where our defence and rucking was not on form allowing Kenfig to race ahead. second half we showed true guts and determination to get back into the game. We started to drive up jn defence and put Kenfig on the back foot from the start and we started to get on par in the ruck area and turn the ball over a lot of this was down to Dexter who again was immense jn the ruck area and in attack and was right up there with tackle count even though he sat out first 10min of the game. Another player to show heart and determination today was Joel with 4 tackles and 4 barnstorming runs and nearly scored jn the corner, for such a little fella with such a great heart, great game Joel and awarded clubman for individual effort. Lex and Dylan continued to pile up the tackle count today but had limited space to run as Kenfig defence was strong. Piers was back in his game today with high tackle count, rucking and scoring two good tries to level the score and picking up top try scorer. One player who was outstanding in all aspects as he led from the front in both defence and attack was Mackenzie who continued to break the Kenfig line and was rewarded with a try and was epic in defence and was a pleasure to watch today. It was great to see both teams throwing the ball arround today and both team enjoying themselves. I'm proud of how we came back in the second half today and although Kenfig came out on top I'm sure if Porthcawl had more belief in themselves from the start today it may have been different. Again we need to focus on getting our passing out to the wings and learn to manage the ruck area which we will pick up again on wednesday.
