Two completely different games today, the first against a very strong Tondu team where  our blitz defence and our speed of moving ball left to right was too much for them. From the start we moved the ball from   left to right and back with Piers smashing up the left and crossing in the corner. From next play our defence moved up in unison pushing them back and not allowing their big ball players to take ball forward nor give their fleet footed backs the ball in space. We forced a knock on and from the resulting scrum dewi switched play with Oscar from the scrum and crossing in the right corner. We defended well again and were starting to dominate where Dexter who when he runs straight is hard to pull down he got the ball off a couple of quick passes where he used his strength to cross in corner after we had pulled their defence from left to right. Dexter not only scored a try today but was excellent in defence getting highest tackle count but also one of the few to ruck the opposition today and was awarded top tackler. One man who also stepped up un defence today was Ben making 6 tackles by far his best defensive performance and I'm enjoying him develop every week and get better and better a couple more runs today and he would have one the individual award keep it up ben. Lex and oscar continued their strong defensive game and moved ball well when scrum half and with ball in hand looked dangerous along with Samuel who also just missed out on another award taking a well worked try and continued to push up his tackle count. Dylan despite a cold continued to smash the opposition backwards but saw less of the ball in hand where Piers had more runs and scored 2well worked tries but we didn't see his normal domination in defence. Another player to have a strong all round game was Mac defensively strong and quick in attack to score in the corner awarded clubman making a difference for strong all-round game. Scott also continues to improve with his strong running to cross in the corner and he is improving his tackling week after week, next week Scott along with staying on the field and in looking for more offloads and today a well deserved individual effort award. Last but not least Sonny making his first appearance not only making some strong tackles, never took a backward step  today and fitted in really well with the boys and showed immense determination to cross in the corner for his debut try well done and awarded top try scorer award. The second game we were all tired but we forgot all the good things from first game such as blitz defence and we started bunching rather than moving the team from left to right. One area we will work on this week is our rucking which the ravens stole loads of our ball today, we will work on this ready for Maesteg next week. Great first game lets build on this for next week.
